Emily in Paris Season 4: Cast, Spoilers, and Everything Else to Know

Fans of the hit Netflix series “Emily in Paris” may have to exercise a little more patience before they can return to the enchanting City of Love. The show, like many others, has been impacted by the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike, leading to a delay in the production of Season 4. Although the series received a two-season order at the beginning of 2022, viewers can expect the arrival of Season 4 to be later than usual. Nevertheless, the delay provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on the events of Season 3 and speculate on what’s to come in Emily Cooper’s Parisian adventures.

According to a report by Variety on June 6, filming for Season 4 of “Emily in Paris” has been pushed back by two months due to the WGA strike. However, the plan remains to commence shooting by the end of fall, as revealed by an insider source.

As for the release date of Season 4, if we consider the previous pattern, with Season 1 premiering in October 2020, followed by Season 2 and Season 3 in December 2021 and December 2022, respectively, it’s possible that Netflix may choose to release the fourth installment around Christmas 2023. However, given the delays in filming caused by the writers strike, it’s uncertain whether the premiere will be further postponed.

Before diving into the anticipated Season 4, let’s briefly recap the events of Season 3. The beginning of the third season mainly focused on Emily’s career, with numerous office shenanigans eventually leading to her unemployment. After Savoir’s parent company decided to cease operations in France, Emily’s boss Madeline, portrayed by Kate Walsh, returned to Chicago. Meanwhile, Emily chose to remain in Paris and eventually regained her job at Sylvie’s new firm. In terms of relationships, things were going well for Emily and her boyfriend, Alfie, while trouble brewed between Gabriel and Camille due to Camille’s secret affair. However, Gabriel and Camille eventually got engaged, only to experience a disastrous wedding ceremony. Gabriel discovered that Emily had made a pact with Camille to never date him again out of respect for her, leading to the breakup of Emily and Alfie. The season concluded with Gabriel revealing that Camille is pregnant, adding further complexity to the storyline.

Building upon the events of Season 3, it appears that Season 4 will witness Emily and Gabriel once again being single, possibly paving the way for a potential rekindling of their relationship in a classic rom-com fashion. Meanwhile, Gabriel and Camille will likely navigate the challenges of having a baby without being in a romantic relationship. Additionally, Mindy and her ex-boyfriend’s acceptance into the Eurovision song competition will likely provide another compelling storyline. At work, Season 3 set the stage for Emily’s coworker Julien to undergo a character arc, with tensions rising due to Emily often overshadowing his pitch meetings. It’s safe to anticipate further developments in their dynamic during the upcoming season.

In an interview with TV Guide, series creator Darren Star offered some intriguing insights into Season 4. Regarding the unresolved Camille pregnancy cliffhanger, Star hinted that Emily and Gabriel won’t rush into a relationship, given their respective circumstances. He stated that Gabriel might not be in the best position to begin a relationship with Emily, and Emily herself may not be eager for one under the current circumstances.

The presence of Alfie will also add complexity to Season 4, with Star suggesting that the upcoming season will delve into navigating complicated relationships, both personal and professional. Emily will continue working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille, leading to emotional conflicts within these work relationships.

In terms of Emily’s ultimate romantic partner, Star revealed that there are more chapters
